Grand Duchess Tinesia Cedolin is the younger sister of King Sil-Gamil of Ardys. While often found at her brother's court, she has her own ducal palace and lands in the western county of Lombardy. The Grand Duchess is one of the wealthiest women in Ardys and ranks second only to the Queen. Her grand palace is built of creamy marble near the edge of an oceanside cliff. It contains a hall lined with mirrors, richly furnished rooms, and a great many stained glass windows. The lands are vast, containing forests, lakes, rivers, and beaches. Hunting is a popular sport in Lombardy, especially when one can be a part of the Grand Duchess' party.

Born into the royal family, Tinesia is very much a Lady and has only one living sibling remaining: Her brother, the king. All of her nephews have died in the wars between Ardys and Corsinth, and only one very young niece currently lives. Tinesia has the looks of the royal family of Cedolin: Golden hair, fair skin, and rich green eyes. Her face is lightly freckled and her ears are not as large or pointed as other elves, revealing the very distant human ancestor in the family. She is considered a great beauty and very accomplished among the elven ladies. Still single and third in line to the throne, Tinesia finds herself surrounded by men who are very interested in her wealth and title.

The Grand Duchess has a playful, adventurous, curious, somewhat vain personality, and tends to be flirtatious, generous, and generally happy. She moves about court with a small entourage of ladies and suitors, hunting, riding, gaming, and dining. She is fond of elven wines, dancing, playing cards, swimming, and sporting. She is highly educated, speaking five languages, and excels in drawing, singing, sewing, and weaving. Tinesia is also considered very fashionable, a bit outspoken, and somewhat spoiled by her brother. She does not always do as is expected for one of her rank and status.
